Bonvolu uzi Unikodon:

shi → ŝi
chi → ĉi

pasi la ekzamenon → sukcesi en la ekzameno

(pasi estas netransitiva verbo)

Regarding the Esperanto version, I think the tense used there is not the appropriate:

would study, studied = studus
would have study, had studied = estus studinta (Perfect conditional)

The conditional is placed in the past, it did happen as she wanted to, the sentence just explores the hypothetical situation that would have taken place if it hadn't done so:

"Se ŝi ne estus studinta la anglan ĉi tie, ŝi ne estus povinta sukcesi en la ekzameno".
