I'm sorry but this one is a total mess!
German states that "the secretary" demands a "promotion"
Spanish states that "the" secretary" claims a "pay raise"
English states that "MY" secretary claims a pay raise
Which one is right?
昇進 means a promotion, not a pay raise
'My' secretary is not stated explicitly in the Japanese, but I think it is likely to be appropriate anyway.
OK, so now, Scott added to the complexity with "le secrétaire" in French. So does this secretary have a sex?
nope
