Hi,
I've deleted the English and Japanese entries this was linked to as it wasn't much of a 'sentence'. You might want to delete this as well, or you could change it and the Arabic entry to something more substantial.
Hi,
you can add alternative translations yourself. Just click on the sentence you want to translate, click the あ->a icon (under the 'S' of 'Sentence') and type it in.
I would say "He's become frail in his old age" for the sentence 彼も年のせいで弱くなった since sentences like this using 弱い tend to describe one's physical weakening as one grows older.
I'm still not sure because I'm still learning japanese but fukai -the last word is an important adjective and mean deep, which i suppose could means in english that He is really selfish and greedy. Am i right?
Saluton! Hazarde mi vidis vian frazon. Ĉu ne pli bone "povis kaŝi"? povi = können; provi = versuchen;
(Kaj mi rekomendas uzi la Esperanto-literojn anstataŭ la x-kodon. Eble kopiu: Per la spritaĵoj li povis kaŝi sian malĝojon.)

@xtofu80:
Also für mich klingt der Satz irgendwie steif.
Ich hätte das so gesagt (lt. der engl. Übers.):
Sie ist als Sängerin hervorragend, aber nicht als Dichterin.
Yeah, when I saw that you unlinked it from all other sentences, I thought "Ah, this is the way how to do it!" ;-) Thanks for solving the problem. So the script should be run in the near future, I have seen several other duplicates in the last days already.
Please ensure that you use capital letters and punctuation in sentences you post. Note that this sentence is already in Tatoeba so will be deleted if it is not expanded or changed.

I guess it would depend on the age of the person saying the second line, but maybe "Aww..." would work (with a slightly disappointed, trailing intonation)
If they don't, then don't forget you can ask for translations to be 'unlinked' when they don't match. So you could unlink your French sentence from the Italian and Esperanto (and your old version could be linked to them).
Wolf, Pharamp, the meaning of the English sentence is "He wanted to sail on the sea", not "he wanted to go the seaside". Refer to the discussion with Paul and DQN on the Japanese sentence.

I think "It's love and peace" would sound a bit unnatural, but maybe it would match the Japanese that way.
[E-6] Love and Peace. [J-6] 愛と平和です。 200810-46937
A minor point being that it makes a little less work for me if the Japanese line isn't changed, but naturalness comes first.
[E-6] Just 1,000 yen. [J-6] たった千円。 200810-34343

Bourdu, "go to the seaside" would have been "Er wollte ans Meer fahren"

I will link it back if he changes it.
Certainly not in _this_ example (original version). I would have said "set off" or "started off", but "departed" is also good.
"started" is also OK when in the form "started for ___".
I'll have a look at the other sentences later.
Though you translation may be better, some people could possibly use "get soft" as in his muscles get soft (or weaker.).
I like your translation better and would hope that it's the one that would get chosen for wwwJdict.
It's just a verb phrase pair, not a sentence pair.

Tamen la samtempeco pli evidentiĝas per DUM.
Bien donc, je vais traduire ça, check back later :)
- aŭ "estas DE latina deveno" aŭ "havas latinan devenon"

La frazo egalas #412432#.
"Kiam": Laŭ senco mi preferus "dum".

Any suggestions on better translations for あちゃー?
言われてみればそうなんでしょうけど、まだ元の文の構成にはほんのわずかだけでも違和感を覚えます。それを駄文にした自分がいうのもなんですが。
別の言い方に修正しようと、「ジャズが使う音符は、バッハが使ったのと同じだ」や「ジャズはバッハが使った音符を使う」なんてあまり強引な訳が浮かびますが、どうでしょう。
merci de ta compréhension:)
それから、この文は英文が先にあったのですか?
ずばりそういうことを言っています。
それからこの文の意味についてですが、よくわかりません。
西洋音楽である限り、ジャズであろうがクラシックであろうが音符の書き方など、つまり記譜法は基本的に同じです。
旋律(メロディー)とか和音進行(コード進行)の事を言っているのでしょうか?
Would you check if the meaning of the Esperanto still match?
Multan dankon!
