Google can't find "風邪で参る" except this sentense. Native check?

I changed the expression for "suffer from a cold".

As fjay69 mentioned, I couldn't find that expression on Google neither.

I think we often use it in the past tense.
 こないだの風邪には参ったよ。咳が酷くて眠れなくてさ。
