Does this mean "He forgot that he had bought her a present"?
The linked English "He forgot buying a present for her" (#302668) is not a good sentence. See comments on that sentence. I'm trying to figure out how to fix this, keeping in mind that these sentences are part of the Tanaka Corpus.

Yes, this one means, "He forgot that he had bought her a present."

You could simply change "He forgot buying a present for her" to "He forgot to buy her a present", and we'll fix the links. Some (but not all) of the translations mean precisely that.

They're both OK but I've changed to using #530863 in the examples collection as it's a bit clearer.
