bunbuku-san, would it be better to unlink this sentence from http://tatoeba.org/rus/sentences/show/123362 which is Japanese, too?
@sharptoothed: imo, I don't see anything wrong with it

ummm... me either, but is there any reason to link two sentences of the same language? I just suspect those sentences were linked unintentionally.
I think it can be convenient.
There are cases where I inmediatly do it, for example in English:
I am ... - I'm ...
Mr ... - Mr. ...
In Spanish:
(Él) es mi amigo. - Él es mi amigo.
I'm not sure if this is a good practice. Though, I don't see much harm of this, either. :-)
Technically, those sentences are variations of the same sentence, not translations. I'm not sure if we have to create links between them.
for the case of very strict equivalence I think it can be, like what marcelostockle point of out
Or actually it can also be for different dialect inside the main language, as long as the meaning is 100% of the same
It can be useful to identify the sentence in the same language of the "group" because they translate different meaning, and those who translate exactly the same one.
In the future I plan to provide different kind of link rather than only " is a translation of" link, so that it will solve the case.

Thanks or the explanation!
I think, having special kind of links for described cases will be very convenient.
I consider two dialectically different sentences linked together as translations, even if they have the same flag.
At least, this is pretty important in Spanish

As far as I know, some linguists tend to consider different dialects as different languages, so maybe you're right. :-)
