Amusante expression. Dans ma région (Franche-Comté), on utilise le verbe se servir de deux manières distinctes:
"On se sert d'outils pour travailler".
"A table, on sert en riz (ou en biscuits)"
En revanche, (toujours dans ma région) on utilise (à tort mais quotidiennement) le verbe servir de façon transitive à la place de se servir (au sens d'utiliser). "Tu as servi le marteau, ce matin ? Je n'arrive pas à mettre la main dessus"

Les Belges disent aussi : sers-toi de frites

Là où moi je dis : sers-toi en frites

Par contre, je ne peux pas dire :

Sers-toi en ces biscuits.

Ici, la phrase anglaise emploie, à dessein ou à tort, "these" et non pas "the", donc j'ai choisi de croire que c'était à dessein, mais bon, avec l'anglais, langue tellement imprécise...
