Very unlikely and misleading translation. Opinions?

When I think that there's a manga entitled "妹はアメリカ人！？" (My Younger Sister Is American!?), I can't say this translation is impossible. (I feel it might get a little more unnatural when it's not a title, though.)

I personally don't think this is suitable for Tatoeba, but I'm not sure if it's fair enough to modify a contribution of an inactive user when there's no definitive, objective reason.


I'd say 兄弟はいるか。 usually means "Do you have brothers or sisters?". (I'd answer "Yes" because I have a sister.) It's a very rude and oppressive way to say it, so you'd better not use it yourself, but it's correct and natural.

(By the way, "AはB" doesn't necessarily mean "A is B". In the dialogue below, お兄ちゃんはいるか means "My older brother got a (stuffed) dolphin (for Christmas)."
