This comes down to the question of how ‘literal’ we should translate on Tatoeba.
"fight against sleep" and "try to stay awake".
My preliminary opinion is that these two should not be linked, though the meaning is pretty much the same. If a language can use both ways to express the idea, the translation should keep the original way. Maybe in some languages, “to fight against sleep” sounds strange or even impossible, then of course the translation cannot be ‘literal’.
