    It seems that this sentence doesn't match English. Should the translation be rather "Success is never blamed." or something like this?

    I think, "All if fair in love and war" rather states that love is similar to war when it comes to carrying the victory without explaining why. While 「勝てば官軍」 or its full version 「勝てば官軍、負けば賊軍」contains the idea, why the winner is never blamed.
