I'm curious why 興味を引かれる was changed to 興味を惹かれる. It seems they mean the same, but 惹かれる is much less common. The Unidic lexicon says they are effectively the same.

I prefer 惹かれる here because its meaning is narrower and clearer than 引かれる.

Interesting. Thanks. Most of my references don't even have 惹かれる for ひかれる. The couple that do have it don't distinguish the meanings. For example, 大辞林 just has 引かれる/引かれる and includes a comment "「惹かれる」とも書く".
