The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.

That's what I cant recommend at all: to give quotations not at first in the original language but in a translation (often incomplete and/or incorrect) which of course will seldom be a good starting point for further translations. (By the way the spelling is Göring, not Goering).

I agree that it's not ideal, but I think you have done it yourself! Like this one: http://tatoeba.org/eng/sentences/show/1294087

    I'll change it to Göring.

"I think you have done it yourself" - that's true; I see I'm not without sin.

Meanwhile I have checked the English version above. It's a fairly precize translation. Other experiences in the past, where there were huge gaps between original quotes and translations has made me a bit allergic.

I can modify the English translation if you want or leave it to you. I added it in English, because I don't understand German.
If you want to get angry, look at quotes by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. :) I added plenty of quotes translated into English. Feel free to make suggestions on any of those sentences.

Btw, does it say "they are being attacked" in German?
