En español actual (sobre todo el europeo [ http://aplica.rae.es/grweb/cgi-...hUINwwLxUZcZiA ]), el pretérito perfecto (compuesto): HE PREPARADO, frente al pretérito simple: PREPARÉ, y aunque los límites de usos y costumbres no siempre son fáciles de fijar, tiende a expresar hechos pasados pero con relevancia de presente. Es decir, la acción se ha completado, pero la referencia temporal suele seguir vigente o tener continuidad y permite, por ello, anclarlo en el momento del habla.

Ej.
Esta mañana he preparado el desayuno.
Hoy he preparado la ropa.
Esta semana he preparado todo.
Me he preparado bien este examen.

En tanto que el pretérito simple: PREPARÉ, tiende a usarse más cuando la distancia de dicha referencia temporal es mayor del momento del habla.
Ej.
Preparé la cena ayer.
Preparé la reunión la semana pasada.
No me preparé bien el último examen.
