Ya hay una frase con esa misma traducción, yo añadí esta version que también es correcta

El significado de la otra frase española es el mismo, pero las palabras no, así que no habría problema. La cuestión es que esto es una traducción literal del original. En castellano "preguntar por" se refiere únicamente a preguntar acerca de algo o alguien. Emplearlo como equivalente de "pedir" es incorrecto.
