I would say the first one does but I'm unsure about the second, to say the second I'd simply say "Ninguno de ellos está presente" but I'd rather let other native speakers say what they think since in other Spanish speaking regions it might be different.

According to CK, some speakers might use these two English sentences interchangeably (although he personally wouldn't), so maybe the links should be left as they are.
