    「私が間違っていました」は、I made a mistake. に比べて大分重くないですか？

    例えばこういう場合、言うのは「間違えました」であって、「私が間違って（い）ました」とは言いませんよね。

    ――とぼくが主張していて、反論が来てぼくが間違いを認めたとしたら、そのときに使うのが「私／ぼくが間違って（い）ました」でしょう。これに相当する英語は I was wrong. とか I admit my mistake. なのではないかという気がするのですが、こういう場合にも I made a mistake. と言えるのでしょうか？ あるいはもっと軽く「私が間違っていました」って使うこともあるでしょうか？

    「私が間違っていました」に対応する英語は、恐らくI was wrong.が一般的なのだろうと私も思います。

    でもその状況によってはI made a mistake.も使えると思うんです。mistakeの意味を見ても"something that is not correct : a wrong action, statement, or judgment"とあるので、「私が間違っていた」というニュアンスも含まれるのではないでしょうか。私個人的には、「大分重い」という感じはしません。（英語ネイティブにどう映るかはわかりませんが。）

    「私／ぼくが間違って（い）ました」に対してI admit my mistake. が言えるなら、I have to admit, I made a mistake.とも言える気がします。

    「私が間違っていました」≒ "I have to admit(,) I made a mistake." であるとしても、「私が間違っていました」≒ "I made a mistake." であることにはならないでしょう。
    でもここから先は日本人同士で話していてもしょうがありませんね。どなたかご教示ください。
