I wonder if this Japanese sentence matches English well. It seems that "often" was lost in translation. :-)

「小遣い」という訳語が適切かどうかよく分からないのですが、この children ってどういう子なんでしょう。
「うちの子」ではないんですよね……。

「小遣い」ですが、子供がねだるお金としてはふさわしい訳なのではないかと思います。各国事情は色々だとは思いますが、大人からもらうものはやはり「小遣い」と考えればよいのではないでしょうか。

さて、childrenですが・・・総称かと思ったけど "ask me" とあるし、どういう子を指すのか私にも分からないです。これが "ask us" なら「子供というものはよく小遣いをせがむものだ。」とかなんとか訳ができそうですけど。

あ、CKさんが英訳を差し替えてくださったんですね。
これでしたら「うちの子は」とかにするといいかもしれません。(「息子が」「娘が」は言いますが「子供が」ってちょっとしっくりこないです。)
「小遣い」はお好みで「お小遣い」に。
「せがみます」は「せがんできます」がいい気がします。
