this sentence doesn't sound 100% correct to me.
normally in connection with the words 'when' 'if' 'after' 'before' the need to express the future is negated. E.g. we wouldn't say "If you /will/ have any questions, please ask", or "Could you cook dinner when you /will/ get home.", or similarly "Let's talk about it after I /will/ get home."
IMHO, it would sound more natural (perhaps even only correct this way) to say:
"It will take 5 to 10 years before the technology /is/ ready."
What do you think?
I have proposed a 2nd translation already.

Thanks. I agree. Additionally, I think it sounds strange to say "take" with "before", so I've changed it to "for the technology to be ready." (I didn't see at first that you already added the translation with "be".)
