דרך אגב, סיכמנו ששני הגיבורים העיקריים במשפטים החוזרים בטטואבה יהיו טום ומרי.

אבל "מארי" הוא אכן התעתיק המקובל מצרפתית.
אז לשיקולך, כאן השם מאוית
Mari
ולא Mary
אז אולי זאת לא ה"מרי" הטיפוסית :)

אני מעדיף תום על טום. כדאי לשנות? המילה Thomas נכתבת בTH אז התעתיק הוא ת' ולא ט'. ובכלל, תומס הוא הגלגול היווני של השם הארמי תומא שאינו אלא תאום בעברית.

אחיו התאום של ישוע נקרא תומא והבשורה על שם תומס משוייכת אליו, למרות שברור הוא שהיא נכתבה אחרי מותו לפחות 50 שנה.

אני יודע, אני מכיר את השתלשלות השם.
העניין הוא שלא מדובר בבחור עברי/ישראלי, אלא בגוי. אני נוהג להבחין בין "תום", כשמו של בחור ישראלי, לבין "טום", למישהו זר.

בכל מקרה, יש כבר אלפי מופעים של טום ומרי.
