
I think this sentence is strange.
才能 is what you have, 世襲 is the action of passing down the positions. It's better to use "血筋" instead, which is what you have (We say "~な血筋の持ち主", for example).
Besides, I feel somewhat uncomfortable with "重要だ". I'd prefer to say "重視される", though I can't explain why.

This might not be a translation of the English sentence. I wonder if the English one is really good, though.
