Unlinked Spanish, it must've been linked based on the also unlinked English "There used to be a church here"
@CK @JimBreen
Since the English has added by tsp_2 for "以前はこの教会にいました", but it is actually a wrong translation, isn't it? I wonder if I should change the Japanese or the correct English translation should be added.
Perhaps one of these sound natural enough.
I was in this church before.
I've been in this church before.
I prefer the 2nd one, I think. However, in real life, I'd say "I've been here before."
[#440092] I've been here before. (Scott) *audio*
Does the Japanese really sound like something you'd use?
A good question - the Japanese sounds a bit odd to me.
If it stays, I think the suggested "I've been in this church before." would work.
The old translation was pretty bad, and the new one is no improvement.
I'll add that translation as I want something more accurate than the present English. It can be amended later,
I'll unlink

以前はこの教会にいました sounds fine to me, if I used to work there.
Thanks.

The following English translation doesn't convey that meaning.
I've been in this church before.
I have now removed 以前はこの教会にいました from the sentences used as examples. There are 100s of sentences using 以前 and 教会 and this one doesn't contribute much.
