In the actual Japanese sentence, it just says 「ブラウンさん」 or Buraunsan which basically translates to Mr./Mrs.Brown.「さん」 or san is an honorific added to the end of someone's name to be polite. It cannot tell you someone's gender.
So I don't think you can tell the gender of "Mr./Mrs.Brown" unless it is clearly stated. However becareful because the lack of 「さん」 on someone's name can be very rude, or it means that the two people are very close.
