Grammatically broken... The Japanese translation should be その地区は狩猟鳥が多い. Particle「は」or「には」is required. "Game bird" should be translated as 狩猟鳥. This is jargon and defined by 鳥獣保護管理法 (game birds and animals protection act in Japan).

#3941843 in Indonesian was translated from #207883 in Japanese. #3941843 also dropped the meaning of "game birds".

That sentence pair was from the original Tanaka corpus, and most likely the Japanese came first. 猟鳥 is an accepted term for "game bird" (it's in several sources including the big 新和英大辞典第5版) but I agree 狩猟鳥 is a better and more common term.
I'm inclined to amend the sentence to become その地区には猟鳥が多い。 An additional sentence using 狩猟鳥 could also be added.

Since you are a newer member, let me explain.
JimBreen is the one who does http://nihongo.monash.edu/cgi-bin/wwwjdic?1C and many apps and other websites use that data, so you may already be familiar with this.
So, what he is suggesting, I think, is for you, as a native Japanese speaker, to do the following.
1. Adopt and change this one to その地区には猟鳥が多い。, since he would like to keep a sentence example with the word 猟鳥.
(If you still feel it is a bit unnatural, you can unadopt it after you make the change.)
2. Go to the English sentence and add その地区は狩猟鳥が多い。as an alternative translations.

Thank you @JimBreen and @CK for your response. I agree with your suggestions.
#207883 その地区「には」猟鳥が多い。-- Please go ahead and amend the sentence with には. Also 振り仮名 for 猟鳥 should be りょうちょう, not かりどり.

I will adopt the abovementioned sentence once being amended.
#3941843 "Di daerah itu ada banyak sekali burung." -- This Indonesian sentence should be unlinked from #207883. Word-for-word translation into English is "In area the, there're many very birds." "Burung" means general "birds", according to KBBI (the most prominent Indonesian dictionary managed by the government). I also double-checked with IndoDic run by lexicographer Wayne B. Krause.

#9858996 その地域には狩猟鳥が多く生息している。-- I added it as an alternative translation for the English sentence. Japanese native speakers, please review it. I believe 地域 instead of 地区 is better. 生息している is my own interpretation of "abound".

@MsFixer
I have amended the sentence as suggested. That may fix the furigana - I think it is automatically-generated.
I will use #9858996 as an example sentence for 狩猟鳥 as it's the first sentence here to use that term.
