The current English translation is "She put it in the box". "She" is "That child", right?
Yes, but その子 is also a possible way of rendering "she". Personal pronouns do not really exist. It's one of the reasons that short sentences without context are so hard to translate. 箱の中に入れました would often be enough. :)
But here we have a Japanese sentence having arguably more information than the English, which is unusual. :)
