Do people use "take in" to mean "receive" or "subscribe to" with regard to newspapers?

I think the romanization should be Shinbun.

Maybe that's so, tadaa25. But when I type "Shinbun" into Google search, the results are all for "Shimbun." Also the Wikipedia shows it thus.

"Shimbun" certainly seems to be more frequently used, I think.

"Shinbun" is "nihonshiki-romaji", "shimbun" is Hepburn romaji. Usually, we see the Hepburn romaji being used in English. It's also what JR uses for station names.

Also, it's the official name being used.
