As a sentence it is fine, but maybe a little strange as an example. It sounds a bit like 1920's English. Maybe something that Bertie Wooster might say. probably "I say Finknottle, the weather's rather jolly today, what!"
Normally I think you'd say: "The weather's fine today." or "The weather is really nice today." (closer to the linked Japanese sentence)
