I agree. But isn't also "at THE university"? Or can you also say "at university"?
"at university" is fine, meaning a university no a specific one. Using "at THE university" implies a specific university which both the speaker and listener have knowledge of. i.e. There's only one university in town and that's the one I'm studying at.
