
This one sounds very unnatural. I would rephrase it as "I didn't believe them for a moment" or "For a moment, I didn't believe them" depending on the context.
According to the japanese sentence, the first one seems more indicated.

It sounds quite natural to me, but then I read Jane Austen. I was surprised that "I didn't for a moment" has 85 million hits on Google, some from the BBC.
