I really don't agree with linking this English sentence to the Japanese 手紙で連絡ください。(148591) This is clearly casual English whereas the Japanese sentence is much more polite and even borderline honorific. I can't imagine the Japanese sentence has the same implications of closeness between the speaker and listener as in the English.
