I would never say this, so I didn't adopt it.

Perhaps it's said this way in some dialects of English, or it's archaic English. TRANG asked us not to change anything that was correct. Since I wasn't 100% sure that this is incorrect, so I just ignored it.

I assume the intended meaning is ...

Don't hang out with lazy guys.
You should try not to associate with people who are lazy.
