I'm not sure when the sentence would be used.
Could it be used in the following situation?
I didn't know when the museum is closed, but now I know it is closed on Mondays, because I have checked the museum website.

I've checked the definition of understand, and I guess it would mean "to learn or hear" in this case. Am I right?
