According to the Portuguese, I would change it as follows:
There is nothing in the world that doesn't teach us some good lesson.
Or, according to Shishir's suggestion:
There's nothing in the world that cannot teach us some good lesson.
Yo tenia dos posibilidades, pero la tuya Eldad.
No hay nada tan bueno como enseñarnos una buena lección.
O
No hay nada en el mundo que nos pueda dar enseñar algo.
La frase que has puesto la entiendo.
"No hay nada en el mundo que no pueda enseñarnos alguna buena lección."
Cuando a sugerido Shishir? no lo veo.

CK, could you explain how that "but" can be construed in the sentence? (but teaches us .... etc).
