I don't think it should be linked to 戻ってきた. I think this one is only 帰ってきた.

I'm not a native English speaker, so take this with a grain of salt, but I still think it should be linked.
Although the situation is usually that of coming home, it might not always be.
Maybe we create another English sentence as "He came home from Canada" and link it to the 帰ってきた one?
