It sounds a little odd to me, but it wouldn't if there was a little more to the sentence. (e.g. "She wormed the secret out of him.")

Note that the 'meaning' field associated with the Japanese sentence points to only one English translation - and that is the used (in theory) in WWWJDIC. So in cases like these I recommend changing the current sentence and adding the old version of the English as a new translation with a note in the comments.

Another alternative is to add the phrase in a clearer context as part of a new pair of sentences.

e.g. (subject to checking)

She will worm the secret out of him. I had better trust her with it at once.
彼女は彼からその秘密を引き出すだろう。今すぐ彼女にそのことを明かした方がいい。

Maybe: I succeeded in worming out the secret.

Sounds somewhat better.
