How about changing it to something like "He was THAT angry."

Since this isn't your native language, I'd suggest "unowning" this sentence, leaving it free for a native speaker to adopt. This way we can all be confident that it's a good sentence.

The Tatoeba Project asks that you only adopt sentences in your native language.

If you would release all the English sentences you have adopted and stop adopting English sentences, then people like Scott who is a native English speaker and also knows Japanese could easily correct sentences like this.
