The Spanish means "A man of responsibility does not neglect his affairs." What does the Japanese mean?

彼は責任感の強い男で、その問題を放っておかなかった。
Being a man with a strong sense of responsibility, he didn't ignore the issue.

Likely a misunderstanding of English by Spanish speaker
Recommend unlink?

I've unlinked the Spanish. The Japanese matches, but it doesn't necessarily have to be translated like this.

As he was a man with a strong sense of responsibility, he didn't leave the/that problem alone.
He didn't leave that problem alone because ...
He was a man with a strong sense of responsibility, and he didn't leave that problem alone.

These would also be acceptable.

I've adopted the Japanese!

Thanks! I'll let the English stand because it's not wrong.

Won't you adopt it, Alan?

It's not really my style, but as a man of responsibility... :)
