First, that's EDICT translation. It's not Jim Breen's opinion even though he is the administrator and chief editor of the EDICT project.
And there's no one correct translation for a word. 小屋 has many different uses. Small cabin is a good translation IMO. See http://www.google.co.jp/search?...w=1440&bih=745 for images.
One of the two sentences, French or English, has to be wrong: either that cabin is small or it isn't. It can't be both...
Actually, you're right. The French should be small cabin since the Japanese says 小さな小屋。 Sorry.
