    I would use English: "If you are a member of a primitive community and wish to produce food, for example, there are two things you must do."

    Actually, I was too kind. I meant to correct it and improve it.

    If you are happy with it, then I must point out that the word 'thing' must be plural (ie things) otherwise the English is wrong.
