It seems so to me, but I may be wrong. Did you translate from polish, or have you adopted the english sentence ?
As I understand the japanese one, litteraly it could read as :
"She didn't think even in dreams about the possible case of meeting him abroad."
まさか and 夢にも underlining the surprise.
Perhaps it is my understanding of the use of the past perfect here that is wrong, but isn't it too "factual" ?

Oh, right, I took it the english sentence was the translation of the japanese one, but there's no telling indeed.
Can you tell me what you think about the past perfect here though ?
