Most likely, two slaves are speaking. To show that kind of respect (which I would consider exaggerated, perhaps sarcastic) to a teacher, I would say "the master" rather than "our master".

I guess it comes down to your decision regarding whether "unser Chef" can represent "our master". If not, I suppose it could be linked to a sentence replacing "our master" by "our boss" or whatever you think would be the best translation.
