Why did you capitilize the word "mother"?

I found this regarding capitalization of "Mother" : "You should capitalize these when referring to your own relatives: Hello, Mother. A good rule to follow is to capitalize them if they are used as proper nouns. If used as common nouns, don't capitalize as in: We honor all mothers in May.'

CK has a lot of sentences when he doesn't capitalize it even with the "my" pronoun.

...

This is why I ask this question.

А это именно потому, что есть притяжательное местоимение, и получается обыкновенное имя нарицательное. А вот когда слово само по себе — его можно расценивать как уникальный референт собственной матери, следовательно, proper noun, имя собственное. Даже не можно, а нужно, поскольку вещественное имя нарицательное требовало бы здесь артикля the, но он не употребляется — следовательно, мы должны счесть слово именем собственным и написать его с большой буквы.

In other words, absence of article or any other word that could replace it, such as a possessive pronoun, indicates that this is a proper noun which has to be capitalised. This is legit since it only references one person, the speaker's mother.

В том случае, когда грамматически имя нарицательное и имя собственное не разграничиваются, например при обращении, пишут на практике и так, и этак, хотя с большой буквы всё-таки сердечнее (и потому чаще, по-моему) в знак выделения — не абы о какой матери речь, а о своей собственной.
