> Feel light at heart; feel happy.
The English does not match the German. I'm not sure whether it matches the Japanese.

Hi, Alan. This would be my two pennies worth:
It seems the Japanese sentence has just been translated as two alternative infinitives. The subject, which is missing in the Japanese sentence as Japanese is the language of context, is probably "I", because they would ask for confirmation from the other person if it were "you" or "one". The German should probably be "Mir wird leicht ums Herz" or "Da wird einem leicht ums Herz" (meaning yourself), but it may be close enough. It could mean something like, "This cheers me up", "This makes me feel cheerful (and light-hearted". I imagine some nice scene you see.
This likely originally appeared in the Tanaka Corpus as a Japanese verb phrase with an English definition like the following.
明るい気分になる
Feel light at heart; feel happy.
Semicolons are often used to separate definitions
Paul Blay or Jim Breen likely added "。" to the end of all items that didn't have them. We have, or at least used to have, a number of these in the Tatoeba Corpus.
My plan is to change the English to "This makes me feel cheerful." Does everyone agree that this works? Does the Japanese need to be changed, too?
Japanese maybe could be slightly changed for more clarity, but KK_kaku says it’s good enough of a sentence as it is too
@AlanF_US, @Pfirsichbaeumchen
I feel that "It" would match better with Japanese, not "This". If change into "It", would it not match the German?
@KK_kaku_
What do you think about Alan's plan? Does "This makes me feel cheerful" fit your image(/feeling)? If we change it (the English sentence), it's good to keep the links as much as possible, I think. Why don't you join this discussion? :)
"It makes me feel cheerful."
+1
This matches the Japanese.
