I've changed a part of the Japanese プチ森林谷 to プチ森林浴, because it looks like a simple mistake and both プチ森林谷 and "forest mini-valley" don't make sense.
Downstream apps are having a little problem with …. Better to use periods for that.
I really don't think Tatoeba should invert responsibility by caring for bugs in downstream programs' Unicode parsing. On top of it, … is part of the oldest Unicode 1.0 standard from 1991.
In fact the app was/is handling that character OK, but a bug in one spot made me think it had a problem.
That said, the horizontal ellipsis character looks a bit odd at the end of a sentence when a font has it mid-line. Better to use 3 periods to be sure.
The original sentence arrived from the Tanaka corpus as a pair with the linked Japanese sentence. It's being used as an example of the use of 森林浴. I'm not sure the nuance of 森林浴 is being brought out. Maybe "a healthy little stroll" would be better.
As far as I'm aware, fonts which do that are either being made to think – eg. by a lang="ja" attribute – that they're not in English or broken/incomplete (why else would they do that?). Which app are we talking about, btw?
(Also, there's actually a separate codepoint for midline ellipsis already in 1.0 as well: ⋯)
But alright, it's not that important, ... it is.
As for the "therapeutic" nuance of 浴 in this word… not sure how that's best expressed. "Healthy" would be ok, but then it sounds done twice with the already extra "enjoy". How about "and relax with a little stroll through the forest"?
I checked some browser/OS combinations. I'm seeing "…" mid-line in Firefox/Linux (Ubuntu). Chrome/Linux and both Firefox and Chrome with Windows 10 are OK. Odd.
The sentence is being used as an example for the 森林浴 dictionary entry. The app in question was WWWJDIC, and you can see it here:
https://www.edrdg.org/cgi-bin/w...B9%CE%D3%CD%E1 Other apps such as jisho.org use it too.
