Does "large family" and "big family" both match with it?
This kind of question is best suited for native English speaker, I can't possible know subtle difference between the two. I suppose, it would be best to write this comment on unlinked sentence (with "big"), and ask if it means the same as the other, and is it common to say.
In Russian there is the same word for "big" and "large". I thought, maybe in Serbian it was different. If no, I think I can link them also. The English sentence is tagged OK.
