Creo que está bien.

También nota: la frase en inglés fue traducida de una frase en japonés donde usan una palabra que se suele traducir más como "entender" que "conocer" [know].

A mi ver conocer el problema no es lo mismo que entenderlo (aunque suene similar). Pero no soy nativo.

En español no, pero en inglés sí.

Es algo que me solían decir mis compañeros en la carrera. Me enseñaban sus tareas de matemáticas y decían: «I don't know this problem, can you help me?» queriendo decir «I don't understand this problem, can you help me?»
