"He possibly cannot believe her" ->

"He cannot possibly believe her" (= It's impossible for him to believe her) or
"It's possible that he doesn't believe her"

depending on what you mean.

I would have translated the Japanese to something like, "Maybe he doesn't not believe what she said." It sounds a little rough in English, so I wouldn't want to add it as a sentence, though.

I think the meaning of the Japanese sentence is:
- It's possible that he cannot believe her.
( - It's possible that he doesn't believe her.)

Also, as you say, I think "cannot possibly" is an idiom, meaning "=It's impossible...(どうしても〇〇できない)", so if I were to translate this English sentence into Japanese, I would have done the following:

He cannot possibly believe her.
- 彼は彼女の言うことを(どうしても)信じることができない。
- 彼は彼女の言うことが(どうしても)信じれない。

Also, if "in" is present :
He cannot possibly believe in her.
- 彼は彼女を(どうしても)信じれない。

However, I'm not sure, can I check with @Pfirsichbaeumchen, @CK ?
Is my perception correct? Please tell me. :)

ひょっとすると彼は彼女の言うことを信じられないかもしれない。

This was a match, but the English perhaps was a little less than natural. The edit in 2017 changed the meaning of the English sentence.

I think the Turkish and Ukrainian sentences mean, "He probably can't believe her". This would also be close enough to the Japanese, which literally means what Miles said. The current English doesn't match any of them (it shouldn't have been changed in the first place). We could just unlink it and restore the original (possibly in an adjusted form) as a new sentence.

The Ukrainian was added before the 2017 edit, the Turkish after.
Assuming duran actually translated the English that was shown at the time, there is a chance that the Turkish may match. I don't know Turkish at all, and duran's translations have been questioned in the past.
