Could somebody explain, is it about a fat man or just about any man in a bad phisical shape in general?
Is it "on a dark night", cause a field of vision is much smaller in the dark?
Thanks a lot.
I personally would say "out of shape". I have not heard "unfit" used this way. But the author of the sentence is from Australia, and I'm from the US.
To answer your questions, this is about someone who is in such bad physical shape that he can't run very far. He may or may not be fat. And yes, it's "on a dark night" because one wouldn't need to run very far in the dark before one was out of sight.
