*are the people who originated in South Africa.
And aren't those people called "Afrikaners", or am I now mixing in an Afrikaans word? :) I thought "Afrikaans" was just an adjective and the name of the language.
But even then, Afrikaners are actually the ones who descended from European settlers, and they don't only live in South Africa, but also in neighboring countries, so it wouldn't be correct to say that they "originated in South Africa". I have no idea how all the other South Africans are collectively called, though.
I also looked up "Afrikaans" and found that it was only a language, so you're right, I think. However, I don't know enough about the topic to correct the fact (only the grammar :-).
