In the English translation "the book" is used, however it has to be "a book", right?

If it would be a direct translation of the Dutch sentence, it should be "a book", that's right. But as for now it's only a direct translation of the French, Croatian, Hungarian, and Norwegian sentences, which have "the book" as well, and of the Ukrainian sentence, in which it's not defined if it's the or a, and of the Turkish, Uyghur, and Japanese sentences, which I don't understand. So as far as I can tell, all is right.
