Ich glaube, das Komma hinter "Sein" sollte weg.

Ja, das ist richtig. Aber wollte ich es wie der englischer Satz zu sein: "To be, or not to be...".
(auch auf Englisch das Komma hinter "be" sollte weg).

Im Englischen dient das Komma oft anderen Zwecken als im Deutschen, wo es nur nach grammatischen Gesichtspunkten gesetzt wird. Besonders die Zeichensetzung der anderen Sprachen sollte man deswegen nie ohne weiteres übernehmen.

Yes. I understand that, but in that particular case, the comma is also completely redundant in English.
It is only there from theatrical and artistic reasons.
Therefore, and since all other translations of that english version follow the same mold, I think it is better to leave it as is, so that it is consistent with the others.
Do we have an agreement?

I see your point. Nevertheless, we should never deliberately make a mistake just because everyone else makes it (it may not be a mistake in all the cases), but always strive to ensure that whatever we write here is correct, regardless of the other languages. If that means that we use other punctuation marks than are used in all the other sentences, then so be it. Whether the comma in the English sentence is redundant or not (it may well be), is another matter, which is important, but does not concern us directly here. ☺

I too understand you,
but you need to note to yourself that that is a quote from the original play.
Shouldn't we, therefore, aspire to keep the original structure?
(On the other hand, speaking of Wikipedia - the german one supports you.)
Does that affect your opinion a bit?
What is it going to be?

Putting a comma there is a mistake according to German punctuation rules. Therefore, the comma should be removed.
As far as the naturalness of the translation is not affected, one may attempt to keep the structure of the original, but in general I think that a good translation is such that when reading it one readily mistakes it for the original. ☺
Shakespeare has long been a German writer thanks to the translations of Schlegel and others. ☺

I'd like to make clear that my comments expressed a hope generally related to our work on the project, not addressed especially to you, Pfirsichbaeumchen and VirtuOz. I understand that there may be a reason for conducting this conversation in English. Thus the place was not a good choice of mine, I have to admit.

Es tut mir leid.
Ich werde versuchen, mein Bestes zu tun, aber das Problem ist, dass ich nicht genug Deutscher Wortschatz, um Dinge zu erklären habe.
